CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS
ASSIGNMENT 1
THE CTS ELECTION
For our first assignment, we are required to form a team of maximum 10 people to come up with team name, team flag and team photo. We are suggested to show the uniqueness and creativity of our group to make other coursemates vote for us. The team that gets the most votes will get to decide what assignment 2 is, how exciting!

My team decided to focus our team uniqueness on the point that most of us are from the east Malaysia, which is Sabah and Sarawak. After getting the idea, we named our team 'Exquisite Sarabah' which means that Sarabah (a combination of Sabah and Sarawak) is an extremely beautiful and unique place. We plan to show that our team is unique too same as the place that we are from. After that, we designed our flag to consist of elements from the east Malaysia, which is the orang utan, rafflesia flower and the hornbill bird. We used a form to collect our votes from other students in campus.

This assignment is a lot of fun and definitely a new experience collecting votes around campus asking strangers for them. Although we didn't win the election but I am still proud of my team.

ASSIGNMENT 2
CREATE SOMETHING THAT REPRESENTS YOURSELF
For assignment 2 we need to create something that represent ourselves. We can do it in any form, whether is it drawing a character, recording a video, or even by building a sculpture. I decided to use origami for this assignment because I have never been good in arts & craft and i think this is a good opportunity to learn.

I have folded a red origami dragon to represent myself. I chose the red colour paper because red is my favourite colour and the colour red is fierce and strong, which i am striving to be. Why the dragon? Since i was a kid i saw cartoons about dragons and i was fascinated by that creature. A dragon is strong, noble and in Chinese culture the dragon is a symbol for prosperity. With all of that said, the dragon became my most favourite mythical creature.

This assignment helped me to know more about myself and who I want to be in the future.

ASSIGNMENT 3 & FINAL ASSIGNMENT
NATURE
For our assignment 3, the objective is to make a strong public statement about the earth is being destroyed and why nature must be preserved by human beings. There are 2 statements in this assignment, the first one is "Everything originated from nature is original and natural" while the second statement is "Everything synthetic using nature is still original and natural". Our group supports the first statement that states "Everything originated from nature is original and natural".

We came up with a conclusion that the nature is the only thing that is natural and original, this is because if the nature isn't protected or preserved, it will be gone forever and there will be no way to bring it back. On the other hand, synthetic items can still be restored and reproduced, which makes the things originated from nature is original and natural.

We are to support our statement using a wearable medium. We used a white t-shirt and we drew earth on each of the shirts, but the only thing different that we drew a healthy and beautiful earth at the first t-shirt. Then, we drew the earths on the other t-shirts gradually dying and in the last t-shirt, the earth is all black and there is no healthy land or sea on it anymore.

We even came up with a costume which is supposed to portray a guardian's armor that protects the earth and doesn't let anything harmful hurt our mother earth.
​
In conclusion, this assignment awoken us to realize that we only have one earth and the nature is very precious, but we often take it for granted and does somethings that hurts the earth. That is why I will be more cautious of the nature around me and do my best to preserve our nature.

IDEA JOURNAL
Throughout semester 1 we were given a task to do an idea journal to record anything interesting in our daily lives or even jot down some ideas.
​
It was quite challenging for me because i didn't have this habit before and suddenly needing to record something out of the blue is hard for me. Nevertheless, when i have an idea or even thought about some jokes I can immediately put it down in my idea journal, which is a new experience for me and I seem to enjoy it.
​
Eventhough the idea journal assignment is only for semester 1, but I think I will continue to pick up this habit to make my life more easier and more interesting.
